Construction completion and Inauguration
The last turbine of the project was installed end of February 2024, thereafter achieving full commercial operation. The completion despite impacts of the global pandemic was made possible through close cooperation with local authorities and stakeholders. The Changhua 1 Offshore Wind Farm was inaugurated on April 25, 2024, with the presence of key stakeholders, Taiwanese and international dignitaries.

Close partnership in operations
We are proud to work in a strong joint venture with our partner Ørsted, collaborating closely not only in development but also in operations to drive shared success.
This partnership reflects our shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and the long-term sustainability of offshore wind in Taiwan.
Operations and Maintenance Center
The Changhua 1 Offshore Wind Farm’s operations and maintenance (O&M) center (沃旭台灣離岸風場運維中心 ), Ørsted Taiwan Offshore Wind Farms O&M Hub for the Changhua 1 Offshore Wind Farm (大彰化東南離岸風力發電股份有限公司), is strategically located at the Port of Taichung, specifically on the north side of the harbor, right by the quay, 台中市清水區北橫十二路.
This location provides direct access to the Taiwan Strait, facilitating efficient travel to the wind farm site. The center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technology to monitor and maintain the wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Technicians travel to the site using a Service Operation Vessel (SOV), which allows them to stay on site and avoid the daily transit to the wind farm. This maximizes the time available for maintenance.
